Journeys In
An Upturned Boat

Life’s The Studio
Images and metaphors synonyms and rhyme
Expelled from this less than perfect heart
Are expressions of an aging humbled man
The crocodile smile of an antipodean upstart
in 2025

In The Year Of The Serpent (2025)
She loves me… she loves me not…yes indeed-o
Love tastes so good as sure as my name’s Libido
Eeeny meany merely male catching goldfish by the tail
At breakfast and lunch and dinner down they go
I do love them dearly but wish I had told them so.
Washed Ashore 2026
RIVER TIME
WINDS FREELY
TO THAT SEA WHERE A SOLITARY LIFE SETS SAIL
ON THROUGH AN ILLUMINATED WORLD
PURSUING THE ILUSIONARY FINIAL TO IT’S TALE
ASTRIDE TUMULT
IN A FRAGILE CRAFT
EACH SHAPING
THE MOMENT IN INFINITE TIME
TO STILL
BE BORNE UP ON A TIDE
AND WASHED
ASHORE
A VESSEL
BANAL SAILING LIFE
SUBLIME
Life In An Upside Down Boat 2026
AN ARK UPTURNED UPON A STONY HILLSIDE
TETHERED FAST IS NEVER AGAIN TO ROAM
NOT YET MY GRAVE IT THRIVES CRADLING SO GENTLY A CASTAWAY’S DREAM OF HOME
FAR REMOVED FROM A RANCOROUS CROWD
AND ALL IT’S CONCOMITANT BLOOD LETTING
PEACE SMUGLYBLOOMS UNDER FLUXING SKY
FROM EACH DAY’S SUNRISE TO IT’S SETTING
SHUTTERED FROM ETERNITY’S DUN VOID
MUTE WITNESS TO OUR HUMAN FARRAGO
LIFE BENDS THE LAME CRUSOE TO ITS WILL
AND HE SHUFFLES HIS MOLDERING CARGO
Household Gods 2025
FIRMLY AGAINST THE ELEMENTAL NIGHT
AND ALL THAT MIGHT DARE DO IT SHOCK
IT WITHSTANDS NATURE’S CRUELEST CUT
TALL UPON GRANITE GRAVITY’S BEDROCK
A SHRINE PERHAPS SOME HOLY SANCTUARY
WAREHOUSE OR POSSIBLY ‘MEMNON’S TOMB
ITS WALLS ADORNED WITH GUILELESS PIETIES
THOSE GENTLE GODS SET TO GUARD THE HOME
Envoi 2025
AS THE SMITH REHEATS HIS COOLING IRON
SO CHANCE CAN ENERVATE A FLAILING SOUL
AND SHELTER THAT GOOD FORTUNE RAISES
IS NOT LIFE’S REWARD BUT HEAVEN’S TOLL.
PAID IN FULL AT THE END OF TIME.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY YOU !!
Received this somehow –
Sorry if this is repetition… perhaps last comment was waylaid by lack of my password.
Marvellous Tony! Great to see you have made a print edition of your life. xxHelen – —
It’s an eprint Helen (edition of 3) Alex dumped this website between covers – I burst into tears when I saw what was done – see https://sonntagpress.com for a project that Brigid and Alex are working on – did their first Melbourne Book Fair recently.
This post is a dump of my registration for Arts Open 2024 early March in C’maine and surrounds – https://artsopen.com.au
