When he opened the windows to let the beautiful morning in this Sathuday he embraced it was a precursor to a very special week. If he had his way the future would start now. His second life beginning with a birthday. He will be 70 years old Monday 17 June.
An audit of the usual peace that seemed part of every Sathuday was cut short by a call that he would be collected to join in a celebratory lunch ~ his birthday lunch.
A drive with Najib to Nelson’s Gallery to witness and participate in another busy business day in the Main Bazaar on Kuching’s Waterfront .
The jam disrupted drive was followed quickly by a delicious often interrupted lunch.
A now reflexive exchange of currency and credit for 21 sarongs, and a few items from Kuching’s recent but fast decaying recent past at The St. Joseph’s Charity Shop and home once again to prepare for the next day. Because as wonderful as these usual experiences were it was something else that made this Sathuday a rehearsal for the pleasure that followed and would unfold from Sunday. Tomorrow.
Alexander Sumen Ward arrived from Northern Antarctica Sunday 8.10 p.m June 9.
He showered and slept after clearing his email but not before booking two night’s accommodation in Bako National Park. He travelled there with Arthur at 9.00 am Monday 10 June 2013.
He’ll be back…before she arrives…But there’s time for baked chicken chop at John’s Place with Azuar.
